Rhein-Neckar Big Band

Big band from Germany. Big band from Germany. Founded in 1993 as Big Band der Musikschule Badische Bergstraße Weinheim, they became Rhgein-Neckar Big Band as a follow-up of big band workshops and concerts with Peter Herbolzheimer organized by the Rhein-Neckar-Kreis administration in 1995. The big band was directed by Karl-Heinz Schäfer (2) (while Herbolzheimer still contributed arrangements) and had their first bigger concert at the opening of the Kommandantenhaus Dilsberg cultural center 1997. They released their debut album in 2000 and another one in 2002. They changed their name to Rhein-Neckar Rhythm & Brass before releasing their 3rd album in 2012. In 2017/18 Jochen Welsch became leader of the band, that then was renamed to Rhein-Neckar Jazz Orchester.
