Robert Solem

Robert was born in Bridgewater, South Dakota. He attended Augustana College in Sioux Falls, South Dakota Princeton Seminary in Princeton New Jersey; and studied Musicology at the University of Minnesota. He spent one year studying music and teaching English in Germany. In 1962, he was appointed Special Lecturer in Music at the University of Saskatchewan's (U of S) College of Education. He directed the university's Greystone Singers, starting in 1963, and continued to lead the choir for a number of years. From 1977 to 1985, he directed the Saskatoon Chamber Singers, which was founded by alumni of the Greystone Singers.
