“Blondie” was born Violet B. Feilbach in Brownsville, WI, on April 4, 1927. Along with her brother Bernie, she used the professional name Roberts, playing first trumpet and singing in the Bernie Roberts Orchestra. She was credited as “Blondie” on the band’s record labels and in newspaper ads. In 1952 she wed Elmer Moungey, to whom she was married for 55 years until his death in 2007. Violet Moungey passed away on February 16, 2020, with no mention of her musical past in her obituary.
