Breen Schipke

Cairns born and Brisbane trained, Breen Schipke was always destined to be making music. With early tuition in piano, cornet, guitar, bass, drums and music theory, Breen always had music both in the blood and in his head. Arriving in Brisbane at age 18, he began the long journey through numerous bands both original and covers as he sort out that most elusive of roles as a professional musician: to be able to both eat and play at the same time! Involved in numerous recordings and gigging bands (including the likes of Barb, Dirt Petty, Spank, the Dave Ritter Band, Suzie MacKenzie) Breen decided he needed to get a stronger grip on his destiny and set out to learn both sides of the industry on both sides of the mic and gained a Diploma from the SAE and then a Bachelor of Music from the Qld Conservatorium. Majoring in Sonology (the study of sound) with minors in voice, bass and piano. Breen finally then ‘made the grade’ spending 6 years gigging and touring professionally throughout Qld .
