Les Berbères

Algerian band originally founded in 1973 by Djamel "Joe" Sabri, its musical career started in 1979. Les Berbères were one of the first (if not the first) Chawi Rock bands. With four albums under their belts, their second album which features the hit "Bachtola" (1990) has known a nationwide success and through their music, they were activists for the preservation of the Berber identity and the Amazigh culture in Algeria.
