Destiny (87)

Kyoto-based Destiny was formed by vocalist Tatsuya Kimura in 1989. Guitarist Takashi Shimizu joined four years later. Hard rock quartet played live gigs with limited success. Numerous line-up changes followed until 1999 when the band recorded their debut album "Real Hard Spirits". Second full-length, "Ara Bull Soul No Custom Eagle", followed in 2000. Both CD's were well-received by local fans but unfortunately Destiny never managed to attract attention of a label. The band toured heavily all over the country, two more albums, "12th Sonet" (2002) and "Torchsong Trilogy" (2004) were released but despite gaining a reputation of great live act, Destiny soon called it quits. The band's recorded legacy is recommended to anyone who likes J-Metal in the vein of early Earthshaker, Anthem or 44 Magnum.
