Swedish ballad singer, folk musician (vocals, folk harp, guitar, various flutes), composer and rhythm teacher, born September 26, 1952. She is a member of the folk music groups Bessman and Blåqvint and was part of the now dormant Småland folk music group Sågskära. Marie Länne Persson was 2009–2014 leader of a Leader project, Slaka-Musiken which brought new life to the music from Slaka, just outside Linköping. Melodies from Slakamaterialet were spread and interpreted through courses and activities, including Slaka Balladforum. One result of the project is the book (with CD) Källan i Slaka - a book about Swedish folk music that was released in September 2014. Länne Persson arranges Östgötland folk music for Östgöta Brasskvintett and participates as a singer. She was a composer, arranger and musician in "Resa utan slut", which is Arne Andersson's play about the so-called Tatar riots in 1948 and which was played in Jönköping in the summer of 2008, theater musician, composer and actor in "Mysteriet med den blå flaskan", Jönköping 2007/2008 and "Vävarens dröm" 2002–2003 at Smålands Musik och Teater, and in "Herr Arnes penningar" at Västanå Teater 2001–2002. She is responsible for music at Jönköping's Allmogemarknad. She also tours with the performances Harpan Persson & Moster Gitarr together with Gitte Pålsson and has played the performance Songs, stories and secrets with Ralf Novak-Rosengren. Together with him, she has written the book Romanifolkets visor.
