(1941 - 1995) A clown from Monterrey, NL, Mexico who began his TV career in 1965 as the host of the program "Estrellitas del 12". When the show ran its course, he took a break from TV until 1982, appearing as a special guest on the program "El Mundo Maravilloso de Juan Pestañas". Following this, in 1984 he got his own program "Cari Cari con Betín" in where his popularity with children of Monterrey was solidified. He was known for covering songs, most notably "Nosotros" (Orquesta Aragon) and "New York New York", the latter which was used with Frank Sinatra's permission. In his work, he always instilled values in children, such as how to respect their parents and how to study. Betín's last TV appearance was in October 1995 for the third anniversary of Jugando con Romel, a program starring his brother, Jorge Ruiz. Betin died on December 22, 1995 at 54.
