Formed while at high school Christmas 2011, entered Yamaha's 6th Music Revolution competition in 2012, reaching the final 13th January 2013 final and winning two prizes. Personnel changes followed, and in February 2016, with one original member left in the band, the decision was made to disband Modern Girls and continue musical activities as 四丁目のアンナ.
