Katrin Schäfer grew up in Oranienburg near Berlin, studied business administration at the University of Giessen, and then worked at banks in Frankfurt am Main and Düsseldorf. Catherine Shepherd began publishing in 2012 via Amazon's self-publishing platforms for e-books (Kindle Direct Publishing) and for paperbacks (CreateSpace.com). She also published books in German bookstores via the self-founded Kafel-Verlag. By her own account, Catherine Shepherd has sold more than 1,000,000 copies of her books through Amazon.de and other e-book stores. She lives with her family in Zons am Rhein.
