Gazpacho Andalú
Настоящее имя: Gazpacho Andalú
Об исполнителе:
Gazpacho Andalú is a flamenco fusion group based in New York City blending, Andalusian, North African, jazz and Latin American influences like the famous Spanish cold soup with its Old and New World ingredients. The 'vuelta e ida' is a play on words of how transatlantic musical influences (tangos, rumbas, colombianas, etc) have crisscrossed the ocean. Alfonso Cid is the founder, cantaor, flutist who arrived in New York City in 1997 having been formed in his native Seville in the famous Triana neighborhood. The other members are Arturo Martinez, flamenco guitar; Gary Raheb, Cuban cuatro guitar, bass: Tony de Vivo, drums/percussion; Janairdo Batista, cajon, vocals; and Sean Kupisz, bass/cajon. Reflected in this album are various flamenco forms like tangos, rumbas, tanguillos and bulerías which blend with jazz improvisations to produce their unique sound. Not of the laid-back 'nouveau flamenco' variety Gazpacho Andalú has more in common with Radio Tarifa, Son de la Frontera or La Barbería del Sur.
