Danish Balkan folk band formed in 1970 in Copenhagen. [u]NOTICE: Although recorded in 1976, 1980 and 1982, all of Urte's three LPs were not released until 1983:[/u] 1. 7584396 recorded 1976. 2. 24293027 recorded 1980. 3. 10202221 recorded 1982. Urte was originally formed by Anne-Mette Nielsen (frula), Ib Jørgensen (bass), Lisbeth Torp Jensen (recorder), Kurt Larsen (accordion) and Niels "Niller" Larsen (guitar). In the first part of the 1970's the line-up changed quite a bit, including Egon Aagaard (accordion), Marianne Møller (violin) and Frederik Møller (viola), among others. In 1976 the band recorded the album "7584396", in 1978 they toured Macedonia and in 1979 they participated in a live TV broadcast in Belgrade. In 1980 Nielsen, Jørgensen and Carlsen recorded 24293027 as a trio and toured Denmark for several months. Carlsen left the group at the turn of 81/82, after which Urte continued as a duo for a little more than a year and recorded 10202221.
