American vocalist who performed with various orchestras in the 1940s and 1950s, including the orchestras of Billy Butterfield, Dick Gregory, Freddie Slack, and Joe Venuti. Originally, she performed under the stage name "Dottie Ann(e) Dare" or "Dottie Dare". She was married to trumpeter Billy Butterfield from 1951 until his death in 1988.
