American concert pianist (born 1920 in Tampa, Florida - died 2001 in Ybor City, Florida) A graduate of the Juillard School of Music, Gonzmart toured the United States and Cuba as a concert pianist. She played Carnegie Hall in New York City and accompanied Liberace, Ernesto Lecuona, and Ivan Jadan. In 1946, she married violinist Cesar Gonzmart. In 1953, Gonzmart and her husband took over the well-known Columbia Restaurant in Ybor City, Florida, that her grandparents had founded in 1905. In addition to serving as the restaurant's hostess and figurehead, Gonzmart, nicknamed the "Queen of Ybor City," was involved in many artistic and social causes. For example, she helped found the Tampa Symphony Orchestra (a forerunner of today’s Florida Orchestra) and organized the Ballet Folklorico of Ybor City. She also served three consecutive terms as president of the Ybor City Chamber of Commerce.
