Civilised are a “dark-wave alternative rock band” – whatever that means - from Perth, WA. They have been cutting their teeth in nearly every live venue in Perth for about 2 years and are chomping at the bit to expand their horizons. They clocked up almost 30 gigs in 2002 alone. Between the end of 2001 and the middle of 2002 they recorded 10 tracks, 6 of which have been released on their debut self-titled EP ‘Civilised’. Civilised’s sound ranges from the upbeat to the brooding, whilst maintaining a distinctively dark sound. Though they shy away from the term ‘Goth Band’, their taste in apparel fails to do them any favours on that front.
