Настоящее имя: Margarita Freidenfelde
Об исполнителе:
Gunārs Freidenfelds' spouse, singer and music pedagogue Margita Freidenfelde nee Urķe, was born on 16th of October, 1946. Her parents were simple working people, dad worked on the railway, mom was a housewife. In 1967, having not yet graduated from Jelgava Music High School, Margita began working in the REO female vocal ensemble, where she also met her husband, composer and trumpeter Gunārs Freidenfelds – both of them married in 1974. Since Margita could sing very high notes, it was she who sang the highest vocal parties, such as the beautiful introduction solo Dziesma Nenosalst (Song Does Not Freeze). Back in REO times, Margita Freidenfeld also began singing in the vocal ensemble led by John Sildeg, double quartet 4 + 4, but this was only a studio collective. In 1978, the Freidenfeld family moved to Adazi, because a home was offered there – a daughter, Sandra, had just been born in the family, and for a while Margit stopped singing. However, when Gunārs Freidenfelds became the leader of the Estrādes Ansamblis Ādaži, he asked his wife to perform again. When Freidenfeld had a son, Gunnar Jr., in 1981, Margita's career as a pop singer ended. /Newspaper "Darba balss", 1981/
