Descent (23)

"Descent is made up of various ex-members from local bands that have came together to use their abilities to create the best music they feel is possible. It all started about 8 months ago with guitarist Andrew and drummer Justin jamming with another guitarist that soon left. Justin and Andrew began looking for the other elements of the band. Andrew knew bassist Anton and guitarist Lucas from the band Dark halo. That band was going no where and Andrew asked Anton if he would like to join. Anton agreed and that was that. About a month later they felt something was missing, there wasn't enough depth to the music. So Anton brought in Lucas from their previous band. The search for a singer was long and tiresome. They met with a kid standing next to the PA that was bobbing his head violently to the sounds of Distress. Chris was that kids name and a week or so passed before Andrew got a hold of Chris. Andrew and the band set up an audition for Chris. He showed up, started screaming, and they knew he was the singer for them. After a week or two another local band broke up that featured an electronics man named Jordan. Andrew had been in a band previously with Jordan and was good friends with him. Andrew asked Jordan to join, and Jordan happily accepted. All these members formed what now is Descent. With all the members feeling at home in the band, they feel this is the band they will be in for the long haul. Descent is prepared to take their music as far as it will go, taking in praise and criticism." -December 2001
