Alfred Montmarquette

Famous accordionist born in New York on April 6 1871, he died in Montreal (at Hospice Gamelin) on may 24, 1944, aged 74....Son of Maurice Montmarquette, he married Léa Pelletier in 1894.He started recording in 1927 on Starr with pianist Henri Langlois and bone player Adélard St-Jean. Later, he recorded on Columbia and Brunswick....On Brunswick, Montmarquette, Langlois & St-Jean took the name of "Le Trio du Vieux Québec".
