House of God was a band that Dave Rubenstein (a.k.a. Dave Insurgent) and Paul Bakija (a.k.a. Paul Cripple) were in the process of forming as they were ending their previous band, Reagan Youth. The last drummer for Reagan Youth, Javier Madariaga (a.k.a. Johnny Aztec), who played drums on "Volume 2" is playing drums on "God Created Man" as well. The bassist, Chris Simunek, rounded up the lineup. There are only seven songs recorded in 1988 on an 8 track and engineered by Jay Giant at Giant Studios, NYC. These 7 songs were never mixed and the Ampex 456 tapes are lost. But they are enough to show what Dave and Paul wanted to do musically and artistically after their time with Reagan Youth. Instead of attacking the republican right wingers, they were going to go after organized religion. It didn't last very long but at least it's something for those who wish Reagan Youth had recorded more than just what's on their Collection of Pop Classics. Imperious Galatacus peaches atheistic anarchy with the fervor of Jerry Falwell whilst backed by a gospel band that sounds like Hendrix & Zeppelin with some Van Halen for speed.
