Antônio Bandeira

Brazilian painter. Together with Aldemir Martins, Inimá de Paula, and others, he was part of the Modernist in Fortaleza, in the 40s. In 1946, with a scholarship from the French government, he travels to Paris, where he has the opportunity to study at the École Superieure des Beaux Arts and at the Académie de la Grande Chaumière. A renowned master of Brazilian abstract painting - and also a master of watercolors -, he lived most of his life in France. He lived with the painters of the traditional École de Paris, integrating himself fully with them until his return to Brazil in 1960. b.: May 26, 1922 in Fortaleza, Ceará. d.: October 6, 1967 in Paris, France.
