Klaus Westermann was born in Bremen in 1963. Piano lessons since 1974, plus organ since 1977 by Manfred Storm. Studies 1988 - 1993 at the Academy for Early Music in Bremen with the main subjects harpsichord and basso continuo with Gerhard Kastner. Other teachers included Thomas Albert, Manfred Cordes, Stephen Stubbs, Gisela Jaacks and Greta Haenen. 1991 - 2015 founded and directed the ensemble "Les Enchantants" for French music. After graduating in 1993 as harpsichordist and organist, member of various ensembles and orchestras, also as soloist, in Hamburg, Bremen, Berlin, Düsseldorf and Cologne. National and international concert activity between Cologne (Philharmonie) and Paris (Théatre des Champs-Élysées), performances in Graz (Styriarte, founded by Nikolaus Harnoncourt) and Schloss Brühl. Various CD productions. 2017 foundation of the "ensemble.ambiance" with focus on French music. In Bremen church musician from 2004 - 2016 in the Waller parishes, mainly on the middle tone organ of Winold van der Putten. He was a lecturer for harpsichord and basso continuo at the Hochschule für Künste Bremen for eight years. In January 2018, he took over the direction of the Neue Kantorei Bremen, with which he successfully prepares concert programs twice a year with music between 1600 and 1750. The summer concerts take place on a smaller scale with usually only one continuo group; the fall concerts with French music, on the other hand, feature vocal solos and the "Ambiance" orchestra.
