Acetate Caliphate

Nayan Jakobsen and Teit Voss form the Copenhagen based duo Acetate Caliphate. They explore the musical traditions and genres from a wide range of middle eastern countries, such as Lebanese New Wave and Iraqi disco dating to the 70s and 80s. Combined with the aesthetics of instrumental hip-hop, a powerful cinematic sound image is generated. The primary focus is to support the middle eastern sound with heavy drums and deepfelt bass.
