Kenneth Lane (3)

A self-promoted American heldentenor active in the 1990s. He wrote on the newsgroup rec.music.classical on 10 May 2000: "I am 72 years old (born in Jersey City Thursday February, 1928). You would NEVER sense that as I look like someone in his early 40s. I work out in gyms in our area 3 hours every day and run variably 20 miles every other day. I sing at least 3 to 4 hours every day, all manner of repertoire, including of course all of Wagner's epic heroes as well as my best Italian roles: Otello, Rhadames and Manrico." His post was in response to a question why he was not singing with major opera companies. Discussion of his merits evoked comparison with Florence Foster Jenkins.
