Swedish opera singer (bass) and actor, born January 30, 1936 in Västerås, died June 25, 2003 in Gothenburg. He studied at the Statens scenskola in Gothenburg. He made his debut in 1966 as Don Bartolo in Mozart's Marriage of Figaro at the Stora Teatern in Gothenburg. There he was involved until 1992 and sang, for example, Gustav Lejon in Animalen, Anckarström in Tintomara and Tevje in Spelman på maket. Tintomara was staged at Stora Teatern in 1976. An LP recording with the same title was also made with the Gothenburg ensemble. Other roles at the Stora Teatern include King Philip in Don Carlos, Sarastro in The Magic Flute, Basilio in The Barber of Seville, Dulcamara in The Love Potion, Seneca in Poppea's Coronation, Osmin in The Enleveringen ur Seraljen and Prince Gremin in Eugene Onegin. At the Gothenburg Opera he appeared as Don Bartolo in The Marriage of Figaro (1994–1995 and 1997), the commander in Don Giovanni (1995), the older soldier in Salome (1996) and Kromow in The Merry Widow (1997–1998). Zetterström played the forest guard in Den listiga lilla räven at Norrlandsoperan. At Malmö Opera he had the role of Timur in Turandot.
