Excuses (3)

Excuses was formed in 2009 by Mark Raymond and Wes Garcia after "Len Bias" broke up and they both moved from Washington DC to Portland, OR. Mark and Wes originally met Daniel O'Brien-Bravi in 2008 in Washington DC and became friends through the mutual love of math rock. In 2011 Daniel received a batch of recordings of Mark's previous projects, and "405 Florida" by Excuses was among them, but not labelled. Daniel loved it, and after asking Mark what the project was, was surprised that it was mostly inactive. Daniel joined as a bass player, while Wes transitioned from baritone guitar to guitar. The trio rearranged several songs from "405 Florida" for live shows as a three-piece, and began writing new music. From 2011-2015 the group wrote and recorded an album as a three-piece that has yet to be released.
