It held for a long time, the world record in continuous yodelling by Robert Roßkogler and Alfred Leitner from 1982. Because only a year ago, the time of 14 hours and 37 minutes was set by a yodeler from Bavaria. Andrea Wittmann yodeled a total of 15 hours and 11 seconds. For Roßkogler and Leitner, who successfully roamed the country as "yodelling vagabonds" for years, no reason to be sad, after all, their world record is celebrating an anniversary this year: exactly 35 years ago, on March 15, 1982, the two yodeled each other in what was then the old town parlor by Ewald Harrer around the head and collar. "We yodeled, each for himself, in a small chamber. Each time we yodeled for 60 minutes, then we had a five-minute break, and off we went again. The overloaded vocal cords then took a full day to recover halfway. "That was extremely exhausting. You have to imagine, the air in a guest house is usually not ideal, and you were allowed to smoke before. That attacks the vocal cords tremendously. Immediately afterwards we weren't even able to speak properly," said Rosskogler. The first thought back then: "I'll never do something crazy again". Sprachs, and faced the next challenge in 2000: "That's when I set the world record as a solo entertainer," says Roßkogler. "That meant playing, yodelling, singing, telling jokes, hypnosis and even a magic show on four different instruments for 24 hours."
