Marcus Staab

Marcus Ed Staab was born in 1970 and was hooked on the blues at the age of 14. In 1986 he got his first electric guitar (Ibanez Roadstar) and immediately formed his first band with school friends Ralf Steinbacher and Sven Schüpfer: The Bootleggin' Hobos. Over the years, three CDs were released and concerts were played all over Germany. During this time, he also developed his own guitar style, which is firmly rooted in the blues, but also contains elements of jazz, swing, country or rockabilly. He got his nickname "Magic Ed" from singer-songwriter Markus Rill, in whose band Markus Rill & The Gunslingers Staab played from 1999 to 2002. Two CDs were released during this time. The Hobos evolved into the Magic Ed Combo, and from 2007 they performed under the new name.
