Filomena Piccolo

Painter/artist from Naples, Italy. Filomena Piccolo was born in Sant'Anastasia (Naples) on 21 January 1969. After obtaining her artistic high school diploma she dedicated herself to design and painting, exhibiting mainly in group exhibitions. Having joined the KonSequenz factory, she contributed to creating its image through her paintings, published on record covers, on the website and in the magazine of the same name. Her work is known and appreciated by critics. Filomena Piccolo's works are characterized by immediacy of use, lightness of line, constructive originality. Her figures seem suspended between clouds of colour, dreamlike, almost vanishing images, which the imagination can easily complete. Inspired by known shapes, studies of the body, they are almost all painted in oil on canvas, where the pastel colors would seem to suggest a lightness and vaporousness typical of other pictorial techniques. The evanescence of the backgrounds has led to talk of a sort of 'disappearance fantasy', where the perspective planes dissolve, and the hierarchies take on the imaginative forms of dreams.
