Joe S is a sound designer, studied electronics, but learned midi and synthesis using QYs, SmpteTrack and Cubase (both Atari), MC50 sequencer manuals; and Poly800, M3r, MVS1, T8, Matrix, TX16w, EMU, 707, 808, HR16 synths ... He started as a dj and soon made roll editions, like 1730., among others. With the experience he started to offer midi advice in the 90s. TR-808 user and unhappy with the sonority of the hit-hat found in simulators of the time (B-Box, Rebirth RB-338 ...), creates his own in Generator (Reaktor's pre-cursor), which can be heard on songs by Sinister or M-Jop for example. He is known for "having prophesied the mixture of d'n'b and bossa nova, along with Xerxes de Oliveira". In 1995 he created the label "BUM Records" with his friends P.Sodré and M.Pina, launching the vinyl " The R2ep ". He produced, composed and mixed most of the songs of the group B.U.M., released by labels and record companies in Brazil and abroad.
