Hal Stanley

1950s songwriter, manager of Kay Starr, and owner of a series of nightclubs in Hollywood. [B]For the Québec (Canada) songwriter/producer, see :[a3007438].[/B] Between Dec. 1949 and May 1951, Stanley was married to [a164572]. Even after their divorce, he continued to be her manager. In 1954, Starr and Stanley opened their own music publishing company, Starstan Music Corp.. Known for co-writing hits such as "You're My Sugar", "Half a Photograph", "The Man Upstairs", and the perennial Christmas favorite "(Everybody's Waitin' for) The Man with the Bag".
