Early wind instruments ensemble founded in 1982, initially directed by Timothy Roberts. The core of the ensemble consists of two cornetts (currently Jeremy West and [a1681116]) and three sackbutts (currently [a1587406], [a1587407] and Stephen Saunders) accompanied by a harpsichord or chamber organ (currently [a534667]), but the group regularly expands when the repertoire demands. It offers mixed vocal/instrumental programmes with a newly formed vocal group, His Majestys Consort Of Voices, directed by HMSC's keyboard player Gary Cooper.
