Hans Gefors

Swedish composer, born 8 December 1952 in Stockholm. He received his education as a composer at the Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm under professor [a328856] and at Det Jyske Musikkonservatorium in Århus where his teacher was [a1015193]. He graduated in composition in 1977. He was a professor of composition in 1988-2001 at the Academy of Music in Malmö, Lund University. He has sat in the Danish Statens Kunstfond, Tonekunstudvaltage for Klassisk Musik, 2010-2013. In 2011, he became a doctor of arts at Lund University on a dissertation in musical drama: Opera's double sequence. Hans Gefors has been a member of the Royal Academy of Music since 1995 and a member of Föreningen Svenska Tonsättare since 1978. He lives in Östermalm in Stockholm.
