Hammerhead was a melodic Hard Rock band from the Netherlands. Originally Hammerhead was based around Culemborg, The Netherlands with 2 Dutch players, Bert van de watering on drums and Wilco van Beek on guitar. In the beginning, around 1981/82, they worked with Israeli singer Shmoulik Avigal until he left for Dutch band Picture and soon after that for Horizon (14). Ian Parry from Liverpool, England, reacted when Hammerhead placed an advertisement looking for a singer, auditioned and moved to the Netherlands. The line-up was completed by another Englishman, Ian Bishop (2) on bass, who came to the Netherlands somewhere in the seventies and played in several Dutch bands including a band called Stud with Herman Brood and a band called The Wild where he played together with Bert van de Watering. The future looked bright and Hammerhead recorded and released a single and a maxi-single in 1984 and gained support playing live. After some line-up changes the band recorded an album in 1985, but before the album was released the band had a "falling out" with the label and the album was never released until 2000, when the band had already long ago ceased to exist ...
