Mathias Exler

German guitarist and singer. His career started with german grunge band „Jonas“, founded in 1996 and disbanded in 1999. He released two albums („September Sex Relationship“, 1998 and „Sorry, I‘m sorry, sorry“, 1999) and two singles („Suicide Sunday“, 1998 and „Grubby“, 1999) with them. In 2001 he founded the grunge band „Union Youth“, releasing two full-length albums („The Royal Gene“, 2002 and „The Boring Years“, 2005) with them, also a rarities complication („And Somebody Said That He Should Go“, 2006), before splitting up in 2006. He suffered many years from a hard drug addiction. His new band „PICTURES“ was founded 2012 in Berlin and have released two full-length albums until now. („Promise“, 2017 and „Hysteria“, 2019). They play a musical style of brit-pop and indie-rock Since 2017 he is finally completely clean. About the story from Union Youth to PICTURES is documented in the movie „Könige der Welt“ that celebrated its premier on Berlinale 2017.
