Настоящее имя: Janice K
Об исполнителе:
Performs as "The Lady Elvis" since the seventies. Born in Exeter, Nebraska, USA, probably in the mid-fifties (she was in high school in the late '60s, according to her press kit). Began performing at the age of nine, together with her sister, as Jan and Fran. In 1967 she started singing and playing the guitar with several local bands and ended up as a member of The Western Comanches from Jansen, Nebraska. Met Elvis for the first time in 1967, followed him out to Las Vegas in 1970 and began performing her act at that time, both solo and with back up groups. After his death, 1977, she returned to her hometown and stopped performing for a while after a breakdown. Came back to the scene around 1980 and was then active for many years to come, maybe she still is. In 1984 Butch Berman (guitar) put together The Phantom Band with Dave Robel on drums and Otto Spalti on bass to play with Janice K. Janice K. does not limit herself to Elvis songs, she also writes her own material. An EP with two old Elvis songs, I Beg Of You and I Was The One, as well as Janice's self-penned Don't Be A Fool and a song by Omaha songwriter Sparkle Moore entitled Skull And Crossbones was announced to be released on the Mighty Midwest label in 1985.
