Dan LaRoche

Canadian record company executive (sales, PR, operations) originally from Winnipeg, Manitoba. After working at Phonodisc Limited and Stereodyne Canada Limited, he joined Boot Records Limited as National Sales and Promotion Manager in 1972 where he oversaw promo for the company's labels (Boot, Summus, Cynda, etc.). He was responsible for writing the Boot News advertorials in RPM until leaving Boot in 1973 to form his own promo company, Dan LaRoche Enterprises. One of his main clients at the start was Ed LaBuick, an old colleague from Stereodyne. LaRoche would also continue freelancing for RPM, authoring the "Country" column until the end of 1973. When LaBuick launched Tee Vee Records Inc. in 1974 he tapped LaRoche as Operations Manager. In 1976 LaRoche moved to Nashville, Tennessee as General Manager of TeeVee's U.S. operations. Died April 1, 2020 in Markham, Ontario.
