The Kazoo-O-Phonic Jug Band

The Kazoo-O-Phonic Jug Band were a one-off project comprised of long-time Van Ronk associate Luke Faust on jug; Mark Greenberg (4) on banjo, guitar, washtub bass and mandolin; clarinetist Billy Novick on pennywhistle; and fiddle player Jay Ungar playing behind Dave Van Ronk on kazoo and raspy narration under his [a1927053] pseudonym. Following the recording of the 1990 children's album, "Peter And The Wolf", banjoist Eric Weissberg and fiddle player Kenny Kosek joined; with the group being renamed The Paleothica Promoosica Jug Band for a pair of gigs at New York City's Lincoln Center and The Flynn Theater in Burlington, Vermont.
