Chick Floyd

American piano, organ, and novachord player, conductor, composer, and arranger. Born: November 28, 1905 Mount Pleasant, Pennsylvania - died October 31,1981 Honolulu, Hawaii. Studied as Juilliard when he was young. and was encouraged by its founder Frank Damrosch to become a concert pianist. Instead he pursued popular music. He began his arranging career for the Ted Black and His Orchestra. Married to [a3376506] 1937-1942. He moved to Hawaii in 1942. Chick Floyd Orchestra was the house band and Chick was the music director and co-producer of shows at "Don the Beachcomber", Waikiki, Hawaii. While living on the island, he arranged for recordings by [a1250986] and [a1216665] as well as the Lucky Luck TV Show.
