Synth-pop act ANOTHER DAY was formed by David Ponak at the University Of Connecticut in 1983. Ponak was previously the singer/guitarist the Willimantic, CT post-punk combo Separates, but he quit the band to forge a more electronic based sound with Another Day. Relocating to Boston in 1985, Ponak assemble a new Another Day lineup consisting of himself (keyboards, programming, vocals), John Richard (Rik) Rolski (guitar) and Sarah Long (vocals). Rolski was the guitar player in the Detroit combo FIGURES ON A BEACH (who had been recently relocated to Boston), while Long had been a backing vocalist for popular Boston new wave band DOWN AVENUE. Produced by Chris Ewen (keyboard player for Figures On A Beach, now a member of FUTURE BIBLE HEROES), Another Day hit the studio in 1985 to record the five track 12" EP "Uh-Oh," which was released by Vinyl Siding Records in early 1986. On "Uh-Oh", Another Day exhibited a sound clearly influenced by UK acts such as New Order, OMD and Depeche Mode.
