A Liverpool-based folk quartet, formed in 1958: The original line up of Tony Davis, Mick Groves, Cliff Hall and Hugh Jones was augmented by other short lived members including Jacqueline MacDonald who went on to form [a3670754] Their first TV appearance was in 1960 and they also had their own BBC1 show in the 1960s that ran for many years. They have guested with Nana Mouskouri, Morecambe & Wise and Harry Secombe among others. Not to be confused with the legendary Motown soul group Spinners (aka The Detroit Spinners).
