The members of the band were Bjarni Jónsson as singer and guitarist, Jón Bjarki Bentsson as bassist, Ólafur Friðriksson as guitarist, Gunnar Ársælsson on drums and Friðþjófur Árnason as keyboardist, who was the last to join the band, in the autumn of 1982. Júlíus Björgvinsson took over the drums from Gunnar around the time the band started working on their first album, Poseidon Sefur. Poseidon Sefur was released in 1984 and received very good reviews in Morgunblaðið. Kjartan Kjartansson directed the recordings, which took place in the studio Mjöt. The album cover was handmade. Poseidon Sefur is also the only release by Tic Tac that was sung in English, every other song was sung in Icelandic. Tic Tac worked on another album in 1985 but it was never released and by 1986, they disbanded. The band played a lot in the Reykjavík area. A song with the band was released on the compilation album "Skagamenn skora mörkin" in 2007.
