British multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, composer, and producer, born 8 December, 1949 in Portsmouth, England - died 30 March 2023 at his home in London, England after battling a long illness. In 1970, he co-founded the progressive rock band Gentle Giant along with his older brothers Derek Shulman and Philip Shulman. He remained a member until the last tour in 1980. Shulman played bass with Gentle Giant and often doubled on violin, recorder, percussion, trumpet, acoustic and electric guitars. Shulman and keyboardist [a342791] co-wrote much of the music for the band. He became a successful record producer in the late 1980s and 1990s, working with The Sugarcubes, The Sundays and [a37859] among others. He also has created music for several video games, such as Privateer 2 and Azrael's Tear, and works in DVD authoring.
