Manuel Amorós

Spanish drummer (b. 1953 - d. 2016). From 1986 to 2000 working at Estudios Pertegas. In 1967 he started playing the drums with a small group formed in the school, THE LANKASTERS, He became part of LOS VAGOS, at the same time he studying at the conservatory of Valencia. In 1969 MODIFICATION is formed. In 1971 they record the first album (EMI-Regal) produced by LONE STAR. In 1972 he left with the group "BUFFALO," a group formed by Charly Buffalo, one year in Ibiza and six months along the coast. It returns with MODIFICATION, and incorporates Charly as a singer. Between 1974 and 1978, we recorded two albums produced by "PEQUENIKES". In 1973, together with great musicians from Valencian groups, he made TOMMY, the rock opera by THE WHO in Spain. Part of those musicians would form LA BANDA ELECTRICA, and in 1975 they premiered the SINFONIA PARA BANDA ELECTRICA at the Teatro Princesa. During those years, he collaborated with groups such as LA MASA, EDUARDO BORT, COTO EN PEL, ALBATROS, VIDEO… etc. Between 1977 and 1979 he went to America with JUAN BAU, (former singer of Modification), he began his time as a session drummer accompanied to artists like ROSA MORENA, JUAN PARDO, VICTOR MANUEL, MIGUEL RIOS. In 1980 founded the ORQUESTA VALENCIA, he will be there for ten years with the recording of two LPs, produced by the DUO DINAMICO. In 1985, he acquired the first SIMMONS electronic drum set in Spain and became the brand's official demonstrator, and held fairs, schedules, equipment rentals, recording sessions. In 1986 he entered as a technical partner of sound producer and session musician in PERTEGAS ESTUDIOS, where he will spend fifteen years of his life. During those years, he recorded with many groups (MANIA, SOCIAL SECURITY, SWAN COMMITTEE, ALLEGED INVOLVED, INHUMAN… and many more). Among the session musicians he formed VIVA ZAPATA, and they recorded a maxi. About the year 2000, PERTEGAS ESTUDIOS closed. He continued playing with the group of all life (more than 40 years) MODIFICATION, old rockers never die …… Manuel Amorós Romero, died in 2016. En 1967 comienza a tocar la batería con un pequeño grupo formado en el colegio, THE LANKASTERS, hacemos algunas actuaciones en los típicos festivales matinales,(colegios,gimnasios etc), se deshace al poco tiempo. Entró a formar parte de un grupo más sólido, LOS VAGOS, al mismo tiempo cursó estudios en el conservatorio de València . En 1969 se forma MODIFICACION. En 1971 graban el primer disco (EMI REGAL), producidos por LONE STAR. En 1972 se marcha con el grupo "BUFFALO," grupo formado por Charly Buffalo, un año en Ibiza y seis meses por la costa. Vuelve con MODIFICACION, e incorpora a Charly de cantante. Entre 1974 y 1978, se graban dos discos producidos por los "PEQUENIKES". En 1973 junto con grandes músicos de grupos valencianos, hace TOMMY, la ópera rock de THE WHO. Parte de esos músicos formarían LA BANDA ELECTRICA, y en 1975 estrenan la SINFONIA PARA BANDA ELECTRICA en el teatro Princesa. Durante esos años, colaboró con grupos como LA MASA, EDUARDO BORT, COTO EN PEL, ALBATROS, VIDEO …etc. Entre 1977 y 1979 se va a América con JUAN BAU y empieza su época de mercenario de la música (quien más me paga ahí voy) acompañó a ROSA MORENA, JUAN PARDO,VICTOR MANUEL, MIGUEL RIOS,…1980 formaron la ORQUESTA VALENCIA, en ella estará diez años con la grabación de dos LPs, producidos por el DUO DINAMICO. En 1985 adquiera la primera batería electrónica SIMMONS de España, se convierte en demostrador oficial de la marca, y hace ferias, programaciones, alquileres de equipo, sesiones de grabación. En 1986 entró como socio técnico de sonido productor y músico de sesión en PERTEGAS ESTUDIOS, donde pasará quince años de su vida. Durante esos años, grabó con muchos grupos (MANIA, SEGURIDAD SOCIAL, COMITÉ CISNE, PRESUNTOS IMPLICADOS, INHUMANOS…y muchos más). Entre músicos de sesión se forma VIVA ZAPATA llegando a grabar un maxi. Sobre el año 2000, PERTEGAS ESTUDIOS cerraron. Siguió tocando con el grupo de toda la vida (más de 40 años) MODIFICACION, los viejos rockeros nunca mueren…… Manuel Amorós Romero, falleció en 2016.
