Cinquecento

Vocal sextet formed in Vienna in October 2004, comprising six professional singers from five European countries: Swiss countertenor [a2168649], Austrian countertenor Jakob Huppmann, Belgian tenor Tore Tom Denys, German tenor Thomas Künne, English baritone Tim Scott Whiteley and Austrian bass [a2168646]. It specializes in sixteenth-century choral repertoire from the courts of imperial Austria, but also performs a varied range of Renaissance polyphony as well as a variety of contemporary works. Since September 2005, Cinquecento has been ‘Ensemble in Residence' at the church of St Rochus and Sebastian, Vienna (Rochuskirche, Wien).
