Obscene Gesture was an American crossover thrash/hardcore band based in Los Angeles, California, and active between 2000 and 2016; they dissolved after the founder and frontman, Guy Green, passed away in May 2016. Initially formed by Green, a relatively unknown vocalist and guitar player, Obscene Gesture underwent several lineup changes before the best-known "core" formation appeared, featuring prominent musicians associated with many notable Californian metal bands: Chuck Profus of Agent Steel on drums, bassist George Robb (from [a1574924] and Hardcore 918v, among others), and Vince Dennis (Body Count, Steel Prophet) on lead guitar. Following the release of CD-R, Obscene Gesture signed a record deal with a Spanish label, Xtreem Music. With Juan Of The Dead now on board, a renowned metal guitarist (of Evildead, Killing Machine (2), [a1369207], and others), the band released a debut studio album, 4574319, in 2007. Obscene Gesture quickly gained a strong reputation for the distinct, energetic crossover between East Coast hardcore and West Coast thrash, compared by critics to such legendary bands as Cryptic Slaughter and Stormtroopers Of Death. The band's second album, , came out seven years later, featuring Guy Green (vocals, rhythm guitar) and Vince Dennis (lead guitar, bass) with Vence Simpson (ex-Tormentor) on guitar & bass, and Lamar "Thunderstix" Little on drums. The band's final release, 14349932 CD EP, was recorded with a new bassist, Eric D. (6), and released in 2015. Obscene Gesture disbanded the following year after Green died at 46.
