Brek Renzelman is an American violist, social activist and volunteer. Renzelman began his professional career as the assistant principal violist with the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra for the 1985–'86 season and further played with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra. After returning to Milwaukee, Brek Renzelman joined the Present Music ensemble and played with it from 1992 to 2010. Following the world premiere of Ben Johnston's String Quartet No. 10 at the Milwaukee Art Museum, Brek and three other Present Music string players formed an independent Kepler Quartet to record all ten of Mr. Johnston's microtonal quartets. Renzelman served as the administrator of the Quartet, managing all institutional grant funding, detailed budgeting, and handling the late-2015 Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign for the ensemble's third CD.
