David Lavender

American historian and writer, twice nominee for the Pulitzer price. Born February 4, 1910 in Telluride, Colorado and died April 26, 2003 in Ojai, California. Lavender wrote from 1940's to the 1980's many books about the wild west history in the USA. Later he focussed on history of the indigenous tribes of the American continent. During this period, he also worked as photographer of Central American arts and crafts. His work as photographer was used for Midnight Oil's album [m25523] in 1993.
