Fiddle player from Jasper, Texas. Born November 4, 1934 in Garden Valley, Texas and died December 31, 2020 in Jasper at age 86. He had lived and worked in the Jasper area since 1975 as a brick mason. Hayes, nicknamed “Little Red”, began playing fiddle at age 15 and worked with artists including Hank Thompson, Jim Reeves, Ray Price, George Jones and Mel Tillis. He was inducted into the Texas County Music Hall of Fame in San Marcos.
