Hog Haul Valentine

Hog Haul Valentine is the solo project of Jack Crawford, a nom-de-musique of Paul Blanchard. As with Blanchard's previous band Canis (2), Hog Haul Valentine focuses around visceral themes of death in rural New Zealand, murder ballads, and abattoir aesthetics. In contrast to the noise-rock of Canis, though, Hog Haul Valentine uses a more industrial palette, with loops of metallic percussion and musical nods to J.G. Thirlwell, Michael Gira, Tom Waits, and Nick Cave.
