Randy Carrier

November 22, 1950 - August 12, 2021 American bluegrass mandolin player. Born in Bristol, Virginia. Died of Covid 19 complications August 12, 2021 at the age of 70. Played on a national scale with artists like Cliff Waldron And The New Shades Of Grass, Carl Story & His Rambling Mountaineers, and Betty Fisher in the 1970s and ’80s. He continued to perform throughout his life in top regional groups in the Tri-Cities TN area, particularly the III Day Resurrection Band. He was also a regular performer at the Boones Creek Opry. Composed a number of bluegrass Gospel songs. A rural mail route carrier and for the past two decades he served as minister of Pinecrest Christian Church in Jonesborough, TN .
